iLead Expeditions
Georgetown Toyota:
When iLead went to Toyota we got to see and meet people who had been with the company since it opened. We saw the very first car ever made and the most current car they make there. We toured the plant and saw all the technology they use such as robotic arms and their assembly lines.

Living Lands & Waters
Living Lands and waters was by far my favorite field trip. We helped clean our local river banks to better our environment as a whole. Picking up trash has never been so much fun.

University of Kentucky:
On this field trip we visited the engineering school at UK. We got to tour different labs and makerspaces to see what students in the pathways we are interested in are doing in college courses. We learned about requirments to get in to the school and a little bit about the history about the school. Ive always been interested in Kentucky so this showed me what was availiable to me.

LG&E-KU
LG&E was a great place to go to see some engineers in action. We toured the plant and got to see what each pathway did. I toured with a mechanical engineer to see what he did. It was prety interesting, the plant wouldnt be able to function without him and his co-workers. He makes sure that everything is working properly and doesnt fall apart. Its a very dirty job but very enjoyable for some people.

University of Louisville- Speed School
When we visited the U of L speed school we learned the requirements it would take to get into speed school. We took a tour of each department to see what we might have been interested in. They had industrial, electrical, Civil, and biomedical engineering. I didn't really see or hear about anything I was interested in but I'm not 100% sure yet.

QK4
QK4 was a very quiet, architect and engineering firm. We listened to 4 different people, all in different areas of engineering. The person I found most interesting was the man who was more on the environmental side of engineering. He made sure that the land and the animals who lived there were protected during construction on different projects. We also heard from a civil engineer, and drone piolet.

Mazak
Mazak was a very dirty factory where they programmed CNC machines to make CNC machines. I wasn't interested in anything I saw here. Some people loved it but it wasn't really for me. I like to be clean.

Western Kentucky University
One of my favorite field trips that I have taken while at iLead was to Western. The college had a great vibe and an atmosphere that made you feel good just being there. We had many questions answered about how our associates degrees would factor in at Western, and about some of their programs available for things we're interested in. I recently revisited their SKyTeach program for science and math education degrees.
